摘要：

This paper deals with the influence of residual stresses on the total value of loading for calculation of the stresses of a gear. We develop a computer program RESMET which serves as a pre-processor, calculates the residual stresses by the application of different FE programs or can be used in simple cases as an independent program. The results obtained by RESMET are in good agreement with those obtained by the experiments.
