SEPARATION OF HYDROXYBENZOIC ACIDS BY PACKED-COLUMN SUPERCRITICAL FLUID CHROMATOGRAPHY USING MODIFIED FLUIDS WITH VERY POLAR ADDITIVES

摘要
The polarity of compounds that can be separated by packed column supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) can be extended to include mono-, di-, and trihydroxybenzoic acids without derivatization. The separations are accomplished by adding very polar additives like citric acid and trifluoroacetic acid to a modified mobile phase. Separations obtained using very polar additives are up to 10 times faster than those typically obtained with polymer-based ion exchange columns and an aqueous mobile phase.
