CONVERSION OF CHLOROMETHANE OVER METAL-EXCHANGED ZSM-5 TO HIGHER HYDROCARBONS

摘要
The effects of metal-exchange and metal-impregnation of zeolite ZSM-5 catalysts with alkaline earth metals magnesium, calcium and barium and some transition metals such as silver, copper, chromium, zinc, nickel, cerium, cobalt and manganese on the conversion of chloromethane were studied. Activity, selectivity and lifetime of the catalysts significantly depended on the cation chosen for modification. Temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia and BET measurements showed, that acidic properties as well as free channel passages are affected by exchange and impregnation. Magnesium exchange ZSM-5 exhibited both the highest activity and the lowest deactivation due to less coke formation and to decreased formation of aromatics, especially C9+ aromatics. This could be confirmed by a long-term aging test with magnesium ZSM-5 pellets under semi-technical conditions. It was found, that correlations could be derived between certain product selectivities and electronegativity equalization concepts of both Pauling and Sanderson.
