摘要：

The title complex pyridine[NN'-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminato)](iso-butyl)-cobalt(III) [C4iH9Co(salen)(py)] has been synthesized and characterized and its crystal structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. The crystal consists of discrete molecules with distorted octahedral stereochemistry around the cobalt(III) ion. The tetradentate ''salen'' ligand is in the equatorial plane and C4iH9 and pyridine occupy the two axial positions. The lengths of axial Co-C and Co-N bonds are 2.003(4) and 2.184(3) angstrom, respectively.
