摘要
The effect of pressure has been studied on the bonding in four nitroprussides and in Na3 (CN)5NH3, using Mössbauer resonance. At atmospheric pressure, the spectrum consists of low-spin Fe(II) with a very high electron density at the iron nucleus and a large quadrupole splitting. At modest pressure and high temperature a single peak appears with approximately the isomer shift of the initial pair. This is attributed to a decrease in the asymmetry due to changes in the Fe-NO bond. At high pressures and high temperatures very large conversion to high-spin Fe(II) is observed. This is attributed to a large decrease in the back donation of Fe electrons to the ligands.
