MICROMETHOD FOR COPPER DETERMINATION IN SERUM AND URINE WITH 1,5-DIPHENYLCARBOHYDRAZIDE

摘要
A spectrophotometric method was elaborated for the determination of copper in serum and urine, using a very sensitive organic reagent: 1,5-diphenylcarbohydrazide. 0.2 ml of serum or 6 ml of urine is sufficient for an analysis. The reagent solution is stable for several months. The complete analysis is carried out in one tube. The reagent is strongly specific for copper in the conditions described. Comparison with a method using bis-cyclohexanoneoxalyldihydrazone as a reagent showed no significant difference. Normal values obtained with this method for copper in sera from 50 persons, gave a mean value of 116 μg/100 ml with a standard deviation of 16. © 1969.
