摘要
A study was made of the effect of the tartaric acid concentration of the polyacid solution on the physical properties of glass-ionomer cements. In optimum proportions tartaric acid accelerates the setting reaction and produces maximum cement strength. However, when present in excess, it retards the reaction and weakens the cement. The optically active isomers and the racemic (±) mixture are equally effective as accelerators. However, the meso-isomer retards the cement-forming reaction and adversely affects cement strength. © 1979.
