HYDRATED PHASES IN THE V2O5-K2O-SO3-H2O SYSTEM - PREPARATION AND STRUCTURES OF K[VO2(SO4)(H2O)] AND K[VO2(SO4)(H2O)2].H2O

摘要
In the V2O5-K2O-SO3-H2O phase system, the oxo-sulfato-vandadates(V) K[VO2(SO4)(H2O)] and K[VO2(SO4)(H2O)2].H2O have been prepared by controlled hydrolysis of K[VO2(SO4)] as crystals suitable for X-ray structure determination. The structure of K[VO2(SO4)(H2O)] consists of ribbons formed by VO6 octahedra, which share two adjacent corners, and by SO4 tetrahedra, which bridge pairs of the octahedra. K[VO2(SO4)(H2O)2].H2O possesses a chain structure. A single strand is made of SO4 tetrahedra and VO6 octahedra with two terminal oxygen atoms. In both structures, sulfate acts as an unidentate ligand only toward a single vanadium atom. Crystals data: K[VO2(SO4)(H2O)], orthorhombic, space group P2(1)2(1)2(1), a = = 467.31 (7) pm, b = 1069.6 (2) pm, c = 1156.7 (2) pm, Z = 4, 1214 unique data, R(R(w)) = 0.027 (0.032); K[VO2(SO4)(H2O)2].H2O, monoclinic, space group P2(1), a = 625.5 (2) pm, b = 985.5 (2) pm, c = 653.3 (2) pm, beta = 107.01 (2)-degrees, Z = 2, 1130 unique data, R (R(w)) = 0.024 (0.025). The vibrational spectrum of K[VO2(SO4)(H2O)2].H2O is interpreted with respect to its structure.
