摘要
1. 1. Both influx and efflux of β-alanine in skate (Raja erinacea) red blood cells were directly related to the medium Na+ concentration when Na+ was partially replaced by osmotically equivalent amounts of Li+, K+ or mannitol. Influx, but not efflux, was almost completely inhibited by omission of Na+ from the medium. 2. 2. β-Alanine efflux was increased in a hypo-osmolar medium, but influx was not affected. 3. 3. Gradual adaptation of skates to half-strength seawater was accompanied by a decrease in β-alanine influx rates. © 1978.
