摘要
Feeding of Carmoisine to pigs at dose levels of 0 (control), 250, 500 or 1000 mg/kg/day for 90 days had no adverse effect on growth, and no differences between treated and control groups were evident in the haematological examination, serum chemistry, urine analyses, organ weights or histological examination. The no-effect level of 1000 mg/kg/day established by this 90-day study indicates that the pig is less sensitive to the effects of Carmoisine than is the rat, in which species a no-effect level of 250 mg/kg/day was previously established. Relative kidney weights were elevated in female rats fed 500 mg/kg/day. © 1969 Pergamon Press Limited.
