摘要
A gel immunoprecipitation method is described by which, through hydrodynamic transport caused by local evaporation, (rheophoresis), starting with the same amount of reagent as in immunodiffusion, three times more reagent is brought together than is possible in immunodiffusion, resulting in a threefold increase in sensitivity. The method has been applied to uni- as well as to bi-dimensional precipitation in gels and it has also been adapted to immunoelectrophoresis. For unidimensional rheophoresis the protein concentration distribution over the gel has been compared with that of diffusion and the result of that comparison correlates well with the increase in sensitivity obtained with immunorheophoresis over immunodiffusion. © 1969.
