LIQUID-LIKE MOTION OF MOLECULES IN THE SOLID-PHASES OF ORGANIC-CRYSTALS AS STUDIED BY RAMAN AND NMR-SPECTROSCOPY

摘要
The low-frequency (0-200 cm-1) Raman and NMR spectra of some carboxylic acids in a solid phase have been examined. The temperature evolution of the Raman spectra in the region of crystallization has been found to be caused by overlap of the wing of Rayleigh scattering with the libration and phonon bands. The obtained results indicate that the growth of the studied crystals occurs in a matrix of nonrigid mesophase having the fractal structure with intensive motion of molecules typical for liquid or gaseous phase. The activation energies have been calculated using the temperature dependences of integrated intensities of high resolution 1H NMR signals. © 1990.
