RELEASE OF FERULIC ACID FROM PLANT POLYSACCHARIDES BY FERULIC ACID ESTERASE FROM STREPTOMYCES-OLIVOCHROMOGENES

摘要
Streptomyces olivochromogenes ferulic acid esterase released free ferulic acid from 0-[5-0-(trans-feruloyl)-alpha-L-arabinofuranosyl]-(1-->3)-0-beta-xylopyranosyl-(1-->4)-D-xylopyranose (FAXX) prepared from wheat bran. The K(m) and V(max) of the reaction were 0.24 mM and 0.134 U mg-1, respectively. The enzyme released 0.25% of the covalently bound ferulic acid from sugar beet pectin both in the presence and in the absence of pectinase.
