摘要
This paper discusses differences in the friction damping characteristics of a structure when it vibrates in a gravitational field as opposed to a weightless state. It is apparent that, if only coulomb damping due to bearing friction is present, the vibration will persist indefinitely, analogous to viscous damping. This will occur in systems vibrating in gravity-free environments.
