Flows due to natural convection between two horizontal coaxial cylinders with constant surface temperatures have been widely studied. The authors solved the problem using the implicit alternating direction scheme and the vorticity and stream function formulation, for Rayleigh numbers varying between 100 and 50,000, radius ratios between 1. 2 and 5 and Prandtl numbers of either 0. 7 and 0. 02. In particular, the cases Ra//L equals 6000, R equals 1. 2 with Pr equals 0. 7 and Pr equals 0. 02 are studied.
