CALIBRATED SENSITIVITY MEASUREMENTS OF NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE SPECTROMETERS

A definition of sensitivity for NMR spectrometers is proposed. This definition relates sensitivity directly to the minimum detectable steady state NMR absorption κ″. Furthermore, the definition is expressed in a form which makes explicit the sequence of measurements appropriate to its determination. A new solid state calibrator circuit is presented which is both simple and reliable. Its use in performing sensitivity measurements is described. © 1969 The American Institute of Physics.
