摘要
The tetrahedron model in the previous papers is used for the electron binding in water and in ice crystal. The wave function of the hydrated electron is refined and orthogonalized to the wave functions of the neighbouring water molecules. The energy levels, the oscillator strength, the ESR hyperfine splitting constant and the ESR line width have been calculated The agreement with the experimental data is satisfactory. The shape of the water molecule and the size of the tetrahedron in liquid water are considered to be different from those in ice crystal. The broadness of the optical absorption spectrum and the dependence of the peak of the spectrum on temperature and pressure are also explained by this model. © 1969, THE PHYSICAL SOCIETY OF JAPAN.
