The deposition of titanyl oxalate, [TiO(C2O4)2]2-, species from the aqueous subphase with octadecylamine monolayers at the air-water interface has been studied. The amorphous film is deposited with a thickness of 24-25 angstrom per dip which is nearly half that obtained in the conventional Langmuir-Blodgett film deposition techniques. The films have been characterized by photoelectron spectroscopy. The composition of the film as determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies was TiO6.7C49N1.7, which corresponds closely to the expected composition TiO9C40N2.
