摘要
Results of the numerical simulation of some industrial hot forging processes based on the use of commercial finite element codes (Forge2, Forge3) are presented highlighting those aspects related with the utility of the information generated for proper design and optimization of the forging sequence. Ilustrative cases, giving rise to flow defects in industrial conditions, have been reproduced and redesigned to eliminate the defects using FEM as a tool for carrying out the necessary alternatives analysis. Both, 2-D axisymmetrical and 3-D complex forging shapes, have been considered.
