摘要
A new algal culture system, employing submerged jets of water, provides hydrodynamically defined conditions that make it possible to grow large marine macrophytes under greenhouse conditions. The system is simple to install and comparatively easy to operate, and can be run either at a constant volume with no water flow-thrugh, or with constant dilution of seawater. The various compoents of the system are described in detail, and its use in culturing both laboratory and naturally produced plants is illustrated by the results of experiments with Porphyra and Macrocystis. © 1979.
