We present new data for the vapor pressure and PVT surface of 1-chloro-1,2,2,2-tetrafluoroethane (designated R124 by the refrigeration industry) in the temperature range 278-423 K. The PVT data are for the gas phase at densities up to 1.5 times the critical density. Correlating equations are given for the vapor pressures from 220 K to the critical temperature, 395.43 K, and for the P VT surface at densities up to 2 mol.L-1 (approximately 0.5 times the critical density). Second and third virial coefficients have been derived from the PVT measurements.
