摘要
This paper reports the development of an instrument which quantifies the events which may lead to a crisis within the family, and the management of such crises. The study of 50 families which included a schizophrenic patient and of 50 which included a nonschizophrenic mental patient (in each group, half were treated by outpatient family crisis therapy and half by hospitalization) demonstrates a difference between the schizophrenic and nonschizophrenic groups. The nonschizophrenics become more efficient at dealing with crises and are more able to interact within the family to work out problems. The psychopathology of the family as well as that of the patient contributes to less efficient crisis management and problem solving. © Williams & Wilkins 1969. All Rights Reserved.
