摘要
1. 1. The sterol compositions of one oceanic and one coastal species of sponge have been analysed by combined GC-MS techniques. 2. 2. The oceanic sponge contained a complex sterol profile in which a very high proportion of the constituents were 5α-stanol derivatives. New C26 and C30 saturated stanols containing a 5α-cholestanol nucleus were found to be present. Sterols with nuclear unsaturation were confined almost exclusively to Δ5 compounds. 3. 3. The coastal sponge also contained 5α-stanols but nuclear unsaturation predominated with Δ7 sterols being present exclusively. © 1979.
