DLW - A COMPUTER-PROGRAM FOR THE CALCULATION OF TOTAL ENERGY-EXPENDITURE IN DOUBLY LABELED WATER (H2O)-H-2-O-18 STUDIES

The doubly labeled water technique for determination of the rate of total energy expenditure in human subjects is based on measurement of the differential rates of disappearance of 2H and 18O from body water following oral administration of 2H218O. Two calculation procedures, the "two-point" and "slope-intercept" methods of calculation have previously been validated for use in humans. We describe here a computer program, DLW, that provides options to calculate doubly labeled water data in each of these accepted ways. © 1991.
