摘要
The short-term effects of 24,25-dihydroxy-vitamin D3 (24,25(OH)2D3), 2.0 μg/day, 4.0 mg/day and 20 μg/day on serum calcium (Ca), phosphorus (Pi), alkaline phosphatase and intestinal absorption were evaluated in patients with advanced renal failure. The data show a small but significant fall in serum Ca and a rise in alkaline phosphatase. Both had returned to pretreatment levels two weeks after treatment was discontinued. Intestinal absorption of 47Ca was affected by 24,25(OH)2D3, only at the 20 μg/day dose. Serum iPTH either rose or was unchanged in 6 of 7 patients when this measurement was obtained. The effects on serum calcium and alkaline phosphatase differ considerably from those observed during treatment with 1,25(OH)2D3 or 25(OH)D3. This indicate that different vitamin D sterols can clearly exert different biological effects. Further information is needed to identify the mechanism of action of 24,25(OH)2D3 and clarify whether this effect is important under physiologic conditions. © 1979.
