MAGNETIC RESONANCE STUDIES OF A SERIES OF PHENOXY RADICALS . SUBSTITUENT AND STERIC EFFECTS ON SPIN DISTRIBUTIONS

摘要
We have investigated the nmr and esr spectra of a series of substituted phenoxy radicals to obtain information about electronic and steric effects on spin distributions. Relatively small electronic effects were observed. Groups which affected the geometry of the radicals were found to produce large changes in the coupling constants. Variable-temperature measurements (esr) were conducted on some of the radicals to obtain information about the temperature dependence of the coupling constants.
