DOES CONTRAST DISPARITY ALONE GENERATE STEREOPSIS

摘要
In 2 experiments, 1 using a nulling technique and the other forced-choice testing, observers [human] judged the rotation in depth of dichoptically-viewed, vertical gratings of unequal contrast. No evidence was found for a stereoscopic sensation of depth based on contrast disparity alone. Spatial frequency disparity produced a clear rotation of the fused percept about the vertical axis.
