POSTANAESTHETIC FOLLOW-UP BY QUESTIONNAIRE - A RESEARCH TOOL

Summary: The practicability of conducting a postanaesthetic follow-up by questionnaire was investigated. A 96 per cent response rate, the consistency of the answering, and the lack of difficulty apparently experienced by patients in interpreting the questions, suggested that this might be a useful research tool. More patients complained of more symptoms when answering the questionnaire than in a previous series using the personal interview method. © 1969 John Sherratt and Son Ltd.
