Throughout the world, there are literally thousands of isolated communities that could benefit from combined wind-turbine/diesel generating systems. Therefore, this is one of the hottest areas of research activity for wind-energy enthusiasts. This article looks at some problems presented by this system, as well as some of the benefits of this system.
