摘要
Attempts to understand the effects of the flow field on the mixing characteristics of batch-type internal mixers and continuous twin screw extruders are few, owing to the inherent complexity of the problem. Mixing equipment often involve elements of complex geometry for which the flow problems can be solved only by using sophisticated numerical methods. This paper reviews some of the results obtained in the flow-field analysis of batch and continuous mixers using FIDAP, a fluids dynamics analysis package based on the finite element method.
