摘要
Synthetic apatites were precipitated in the presence of magnesium and carbonate, at room temperature, and their maturation followed. A crystallinity index for each sample was calculated from Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra. It is shown that there is a synergetic effect between carbonate and magnesium in delaying the increase of the crystallinity index with maturation. Deconvoluted FTIR spectra of these apatites confirmed the presence of an extra band at 620 cm(-1). Its evolution is shown and its assignment discussed on the basis of comparison with deuterated samples.
