摘要
Pillbugs given access to both a darkened moist refuge and a styrofoam running wheel engaged in locomotor activity on the running wheel a portion of each night. The animals expressed a circadian rhythm of locomotor behavior in constant conditions. The evidence suggests that the locomotor activity rhythms originate endogenously. The circadian behavior of woodlice as well as the adaptive or ecological significance of biological clocks in terrestrial isopods is discussed. Copyright © 1979 Wiley‐Liss, Inc., A Wiley Company
