摘要
The air oxidation of 5,8,11,14-eicosatetraenoic [arachidonic] acid and its methyl ester is reported. A mixture of hydroperoxy arachidonic acid products was obtained from the oxidation and subsequent separation of the mixture by high pressure liquid chromatography led to pure hydroperoxides. One of these hydroperoxides, 5-hydroperoxy-6,8,11,14-eicosatetraenoic acid, is a proposed intermediate in the biosynthesis of slow reacting substance of anaphylaxis. © 1979.
