NONLINEAR RESPONSE TO POLARITON WAVES DRIVEN IN PEROVSKITES BY FEMTOSECOND PULSES

摘要
Reported is on the direct excitation, by femtosecond pulses, of low frequency symmetric phonon polaritons in LiNbO3, BaTiO3, and KNbO3 perovskites. The number and values of the different frequencies driven by the pump pulses lead to dispersion curves in concordance with results obtained by conventional Raman spectroscopy. A comparison between diffraction efficiencies as a function of polarization allows to estimate the relative contributions from the electro-optic effect and the overall four-wave mixing process.
