THERMOSTIMULATED CURRENTS AND THERMOELECTRIC POWER IN IRRADIATED MGO

Thermostimulated Current (TSC) and Thermoelectric Power (TEP) techniques have been used to study the decay of V1 centers produced in MgO crystals which were γ-irradiated at ∼ 35°C. The TSC data yields an activation energy of 1.10 eV for the V, decay while the TEP results demonstrate that holes are the mobile charge carriers. These experiments also indicate retrapping plays a major role in the decay processes. © 1969.
