EFFECT OF CAPACITANCE ON GAIN IN A TRANSVERSELY PULSED CO2 DISCHARGE

摘要
The small signal gain of a transversely pulsed high pressure CO//2 discharge has been measured as a function of the discharge driving capacitance. The results show that the gain increases with the discharge capicitance but beyond an optimum value of capacitance, the gain decreases, due to heating of the gas by the discharge, degradation of the discharge, and formation of arcs.
