MEASUREMENT OF THE GROUND-STATE SPECTROSCOPIC QUADRUPOLE-MOMENTS OF OS-191 AND OS-193

摘要
Radioactive 191Os and 193Os nuclei have been aligned in an Os single crystal at temperatures down to 4 mK. From the temperature dependence of the γ-anisotropy the quadrupole frequencies vQ = e2qQ h have been determined as vQ(191OsOs) = -278±9MHz and vQ(193OsOs=-96±15MHz. With the known electric Held gradient for OsOs of eq = (-4.54±0.24) × 1017 V cm2 the ground state spectroscopic quadrupole moments are deduced to be Q(191Os) = +2.53±0.16 b and Q(193Os) = +0.87±0.15b. © 1979.
