VALIDITY OF A MAXIMUM-ENTROPY DESCRIPTION FOR 2-DIMENSIONAL DISORDERED QUANTUM CONDUCTORS

摘要
We study the correlations of the radial parameters of the transfer matrix representing a two-dimensional N-channel quantum conductor. Measured in local spacing units and in the bulk of the spectrum, these correlations are in agreement with universal expressions occurring in random matrix theory. This confirms the validity of a maximum-entropy description of quantum transport outside the quasi-1d limit. However, we find that these correlations present a nonuniversal edge contribution near the origin. Using an analytic solvable model, we show that this nonuniversality near the origin is a general result for random matrix ensembles with strictly positive eigenvalues.
