QUENCHING OF THE MAGNETIC-FIELD EFFECT OF CYANOPHENANTHRENE TRANS-ANETHOLE EXCIPLEX LUMINESCENCE BY TRIVALENT LANTHANIDES

摘要
It has been observed that Lanthanide Acetylacetonates (LnAc//3) annul the magnetic field perturbation on the luminescence of cyanophenanthrene-trans-anethole (CNP-AN) exciplex. The ability of various trivalent lanthanide ions to quench the magnetic field effect was found to parallel the square root of the de Gennes factor G equals (g-1)**2 J(J plus 1) of the ions. We offer an explanation of the phenomenon on the basis of Heisenberg exchange interaction.
