CRYSTAL-GROWTH AND SUBLIMATION IN II-VI COMPOUNDS ALONG THEIR POLAR AXIS

摘要
Polarity dependence of the crystal growth rate, sublimation rate and etching behavior for ZnO, CdSe, CdS and ZnS crystals was investigated. The preferential growth direction of ZnO along the polar axis is the plus polar direction, but that of CdSe, CdS and ZnS is the minus direction. In addition, the plus polar surface of ZnO and the minus polar surface of CdSe, CdS and ZnS are sublimated at a higher rate than the other polar surface of each crystal. These results suggest that in each crystal one polar surface having a higher growth rate than the other also has a higher sublimation rate. © 1979.
