ALTERNATING ELECTRIC-FIELD ENHANCEMENT OF 2-WAVE MIXING GAIN IN PHOTOREFRACTIVE BSO

摘要
Efficient enhancement of the two-wave mixing gain in photorefractive Bi//1//2SiO//2//0 by applying ac-sinusoidal electric fields at 11 kHz is reported. At a wavelength of 514. 5 nm, the achieved gains are much higher than those under dc fields and are comparable with those obtained by using the moving-grating technique. The new method is of practical significance due to its simplicity and improved output stability.
