A method for reducing environmental degradation due to absorbed moisture in fibre-reinforced plastics laminates is presented. The method takes advantage of resin matrices that exhibit a low moisture equilibrium level to control and restrict the level of moisture that can be absorbed by resin matrices with higher moisture equilibrium levels by the use of hybrid resin laminates. The evidence collected shows that useful levels of moisture reduction can be readily achieved.
