摘要
The evolution equation for the joint probability density function of two species concentrations and three velocity components is modelled and numerically simulated via a Monte Carlo technique. This method is applied to investigate the chemical reaction between methyl formiate and sodium hydroxide with highly diluted concentrations in a field of quasi-isotropic grid-generated turbulence in a water-tunnel. Plausible initial conditions are assumed guided by physical considerations. The predictions of fluctuating velocity component variances, mean species concentrations, segregation coefficient and ionic species variance are in close agreement with existing experimental data.
