摘要
In low energy electron diffraction, diffuse intensity distributions show up when atoms or molecules adsorb disorderedly on a crystalline substrate (DLEED). It is shown that current techniques allow the reliable measurement of the DLEED signal and theory is developed to extract the local adsorption structure by a full dynamical analysis. The potential of DLEED is demonstrated for both atomic and molecular disordered adsorption including adsorbate-induced local substrate reconstruction. © 1990 Pergamon Press plc.
