COMPETING SOURCES OF HEAVY CO2 ENHANCEMENT IN THE STRATOSPHERE AND MAGNITUDE OF HEAVY O-3 ENHANCEMENT

摘要
The commonly accepted source of the heavy CO2 enhancement in the stratosphere is a transfer from the heavy O3 enhancement. Another source is provided by the effect of the avoided crossing of the O3 (1 1B2) state that is reached by absorption in the Hartley band. The two sources are equal if the heavy O3 enhancement is by 22 1/2 per cent. Enigmas regarding heavy O3 enhancement are discussed.
