Current public awareness about environmental damages is expected to lead to tougher environmental policies and thereby, will affect production management. This paper asks how environmental policies (either taxes or standards) will change the production-inventory decisions of a firm. In particular, it will be shown that the additional expenses to meet environmental targets need not smooth production
