DEPOSITION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF CRYSTALLINE ORGANIC SEMICONDUCTORS FOR PHOTONIC DEVICES

摘要
The growth of multilayer sequences of the organic semiconductors 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride, 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic dianhydride, copper phthalocyanine, and 8-hydroxyquinoline aluminium for photonic devices by organic molecular beam deposition is investigated. Quasiepitaxial thin films are obtained at low growth rates and low substrate temperatures. Waveguides, photodetectors, and electroluminescent devices are successfully fabricated and characterised with respect to their electrical and optical characteristics and the device performance.
