The magnetic properties of amorphous Th1−xFex alloys (0.2 ≦ × ≦ 0.72) are investigated by means of magnetization measurements and 57Fe Mössbauer effect spectroscopy. In the range × < 0.4 the alloys are Pauli paramagnetic, whereas when × ⪆ 0.5 the alloys are predominantly ferromagnetic. In the intermediate concentration range indications of spin glass behaviour are obtained. The magnetic ordering temperatures of the alloys Th1−xFex with × ⪆ 0.5 are higher than those of the series Y1−xFex, although the concentration dependence of the magnetic moments is essentially the same.
