In the September 1993 issue of Leukemia and Lymphoma Di Raimondo et al.1 reported the results of a retrospective study on the incidence and outcome of autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AHA) in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) treated with fludarabine, suggesting that this drug could trigger the autoimmune disorder. In this brief report we present a case of relapsed autoimmune thrombocytopenia in a patient with CLL after the first cycle of treatment with fludarabine. © 1994 Informa UK Ltd All rights reserved: reproduction in whole or part not permitted.
