ON THE GROUND-STATES OF ISING-LIKE BINARY-ALLOYS WITH HEXAGONAL STRUCTURE

摘要
The ground states of binary alloys with hexagonal crystal structure have been determined by making use of results available for the 2-dimensional honeycomb lattice. In order to take the anisotropy caused by c/a-ratios different from the ideal close packing value into account, a difference has been made between nearest neighbour interactions within a basal plane and between such planes. The maps of ground states as a function of chemical potential and strength of the interactions are presented and the crystallographic characterisations of the phases are given. For particular values of the interaction parameters a degeneracy with an infinite series of ground states is found.
